I have a big heart. Physiologically, it is, by all definitions, enlarged. Those elevated T-spikes were brushed off by cardiologists as normal for one with much physical activity. In all likelihood, those may have risen from a glutton’s penance — a chaotic combination of dubious “bakal” gym instructor advise, expensive “qualified” trainer’s programs, peer suggestions and/or pressure, seemingly legit information culled online and fitness magazine promises of high-definition abs in four weeks. Weights, running, yoga, yo-yo fad dieting and “Pih! Nine’y! Ehks!” in the Quixotic quest to be well within the single-digit body fat percentage range beat up this shell into a malformed mass of contradictions.
This is a food blog. That it is requires me to eat. Less of a requirement and more of a default. To declare that I love food would be an understatement. Food is life and it is mine. I’ve always worn my heart on my sleeve and I walk my talk, so to speak. Well, I eat. (riff)
I’ve always admitted to being shallow. Let he who has never taken a selfie cast the first stone. I want to look good. Everybody does. I also want to look good naked. Or at least at some level of undress. “Abs are built in the kitchen” but this hobby doesn’t allow much consideration for nutrition versus taste and satiation. High caloric counts creep in on one’s waistline hand-in-hand with the fact that I’m slipping ever further away from being Ryan Gosling. I put in the time and effort only to fall back a few notches every once so often. Too often. My metabolism tells me I have stayed a little bit too long at twenty-one. Hello, late twenties? Tongue-in-cheek but the struggle is real.
There is the option of acceptance and bitter contentment. There is the option of soldiering on. There is also the option of modern medicine & technology. I’m definitely giving the latter two a whirl.
Flawless offers their Shape and Sculpt system which uses a ground-breaking 3-in-1 advanced technology in a synergistic system via Cavitation Ultrasound, Bi-Polar Radio Frequency and Interference Frequency. These combine to effectively eliminate fat and improve muscle tone, resulting in a slim and svelte figure.
The first step is the Cavitation Ultrasound which melts or dissolves stubborn fat cells. It shows visible reduction in fat, a decrease in cellulite, and visible body contouring. Cavitation compared to other ultrasound treatments does not only dissolve cellulite and fats, but it completely destroys the fat membrane which then results to a better fat emulsification and removal. Moreover, it targets smaller fats, stimulates collagen for a tightening effect and increases metabolism which is what is needed by those on the slimmer side who just want to fine-tune or specifically target problem areas.
Copious amounts of lubricant gel was slathered all over my abdomen. The handheld Cavitation Ultrasound head was kneaded into the area to the shrieking of my fat cells as they died horrible deaths or what I would like to imagine the ultrasound waves to be. There was absolutely no pain or even the slightest discomfort and it felt more like an abdominal massage.
The Second Step- involves a Bi-Polar Radiofrequency (RF) which creates a powerful frequency capable of effectively heating the fat cells, accelerating their metabolism, and causing them to shrink. Also, RF creates an effective toning and tightening of the skin in a safe and non-surgical way.
A wide rubber belt with electrodes was strapped against my belly. My attendant, Chellie, warned me of some pain and suggested that we start on low frequency and move up the dial as I am able to later tolerate. The first few bursts immediately had me doubling up in laughter. While there were sharp, pinprick sensations and pronounced heat along with stimulated muscle contraction, these were very bearable and were nothing compared to the massive tickle it gave me in the area. Timing my breathing between guffaws and contractions was a bit of a challenge but there was very little to no pain even as we incrementally increased the frequency to almost maximum with the laughs coming in to match that. Some numbness on the skin resulted after the belt was removed and my abdominals felt like I just finished an intense ab workout.
The last step in Flawless Shape & Sculpt Program uses Interference Frequency. Interference pads and gel electrodes are needed to achieve the definitive body contour. With the use of appropriate frequency, weak muscles are stimulated to contract leading to a more toned and stronger body shape.
Four wired electrode pads were arranged around my bellybutton and the effect was similar to the previous step only that this was more targeted to my lower abdominals. The variegated series of contractions continued for the next twenty minutes and left me with the same skin numbness and abdominal tension. Some redness was also observed but this faded over the next few minutes.
Post-procedure measurements show not much difference from those taken at the start but there was already more visible definition. The day after saw me waking up to more pronouncements probably after much of the fat and subcutaneous water have been flushed out.
Everything wears out over time. I tend to let myself go and have one burger too many. Flawless Shape and Sculpt all but just gave me an entirely new birthday suit. Thanks Flawless and Happy Birthday to me!
